    Mikel,

The BP Hurricane Management System referenced in the article was built by our firm, IDV Solutions. We’re doing quite a bit of work with GeoRSS for our enterprise customers–and they’re very excited about the spec. We’ve built an engine for Microsoft’s SharePoint 2007 that, based on an explicit location tag, makes SharePoint lists (document libs, tasks, contacts, picture library) available as GeoRSS map overlays. We’ve also built a client that allows the user to annotate the map, and save/publish those annotations as a GeoRSS.

We see lots of enterprise uses for GeoRSS and have made a big bet on it.
